Saji Kottoor, 44 years old belongs to Moozhikulangara. He, as a casual labourer had been pulling on his day-to-day life, with his wife Jissamma and three children, (two daughters aged 11 and 9 and son Augustin 1 ½ years old) with his meager income earned through labour works. On 5th Decemeber 2014, a very unfortunate incident happened in his life. He fell down from a coconut tree breaking his backbone and getting paralyzed both his legs. Thus he has been bed ridden for the last more than six months. As per the advice of the Ortho Surgeon and the Neurologist, he has to undergo physiotherapy treatment for a few months on an urgent basis, as also to take medicines. Besides the medicines he gets free of cost from the Kottayam Medical College Hospital, he has to purchase medicines costing more than Rs 2500/- every month from outside. For the physiotherapy treatment also a good amount of money is needed. Saji and his family are facing extreme hardship to meet the above expenses over and above the household expenses. It is a genuine case where they deserve compassion and support from kind-hearted men around them.
