Shelter for the homeless – 2015

In the General Body Meeting of the SHARE & CARE Charitable Society held on 15th February 2015, it was decided to construct a new house during the year 2015 for the family of Gopalan Vaidyar, Vanchiyil, Kaipuzha who is suffering from extreme financial hardship. Though for the last more than 60 years Gopalan Vaidyar himself and his family members including his father had been very actively engaged in Ayurvedic treatment field, his present condition is very pathetic. He and his wife are old and ailing and are staying with his elder son Sabu in a totally dilapidated and collapsed house. His second son Suresh has been staying in a rented house. The new house being constructed by the Share & Care Charitable Society for family of Gopalan Vaidyar is on the land of 8 cents inherited by his son Suresh from his father, on an undertaking by Suresh that he would look after his old and ailing parents including taking care of their medical treatment till their death. Besides, the above , the Share & Care Society has also undertaken the task of completing the construction work of a house of a widow Chechamma Lukose, Madapallikunnel, Kurumulloor on a piece of 4 cent land she owns. She has two daughters, one studying in 11th standard and the other in class 8th. She earns her livelihood by working as a domestic servant in the nearby houses. The meager amount so earned is hardly enough for the day to day needs of the family including the educational expenses of her children, and hence the timely monetary assistance being given to her by the Share & Care Charitable Society for completing the construction work of her house is considered to be a great relief by Chechamma Lukose.
